DHA to host 3rd Annual Designer Bag Bingo Event on September 20

Designer Bag Bingo aims to provide an exciting, safe, socially distant outdoor event for animal and bingo lovers.

Wilmington, DE, September 2, 2020 – Delaware Humane Association (DHA), a statewide animal welfare organization with adoption centers in Rehoboth Beach and Wilmington, is hosting their 3rd annual Designer Bag Bingo event at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks, on Sunday, September 20, with a rain date of Sunday, September 27. Both Bingo and animal lovers alike will have the opportunity to purchase admission tickets to attend the event and win a variety of designer bags. DHA’s mission is to make friends for life by connecting people with animals and by building strong relationships to better serve the community – and their upcoming socially distant Designer Bag Bingo event, aims to do just that.

Designer Bag Bingo awards Bingo winners with beautiful designer purses, satchels, and tote bags which are generously purchased by supporters of Delaware Humane Association. DHA typically holds Bingo events in both Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, however due to Covid-19 this year they will only be hosting one outdoor event. “We chose Frawley Stadium so participants could spread out throughout the ballpark seating to ensure safety, as well as fun,” says Keith Hassett, Volunteer and Community Engagement Manager. Adds Hassett, “Plus it’s unique, and what better way to announce winners than over the loud speaker in the stadium?! We hope to make Bingo at the Ballpark an annual event.”

Tickets are limited and priced at $30 a ticket, with the option to purchase additional cards and raffle entries. Attendees must be at least 18 years old to play. Daniel S. Frawley Stadium is located in Wilmington at 801 Shipyard Drive. Doors will open at 2 pm, with Bingo beginning promptly at 2:45 pm. Event attendance will remain under the 30% capacity required for outdoor social gatherings in Delaware. Everyone will be able to socially distance themselves throughout the seats in the stadium, and are encouraged to do so. There will be hand sanitation stations on the concourse, and masks are required to be worn on the concourse and may only be removed once safely socially distanced in the seating bowl. Attendees can also bring their own snacks, but no alcohol is permitted.

DHA embodies the spirit “making friends for life” by hosting fun, socially distant events that raise awareness of adoptable animals at DHA, like Designer Bag Bingo, to members of their community. Supporters who can’t attend in person also have the opportunity to donate to the event, as well as sponsor a bag.
