Basic Spay/Neuter fees:

  • Canine Neuter (0-30 pounds) – $140.00
  • Canine Neuter (31-50 pounds) – $170.00
  • Canine Neuter (51-75 pounds) $200.00
  • Canine Neuter (76-100 pounds) $235*
  • Canine Spay (0-30 pounds) – $155.00
  • Canine Spay (31-50 pounds) – $190.00
  • Canine Spay (51-75 pounds) – $225.00*
  • Canine Spay (76-100 pounds) – $260.00*

*Canines over 100 pounds:   If canine weighs over 100 lbs there will be an additional $30.00 fee

*All brachycephalic breeds require medical department approval prior to scheduling

Note: PRICE INCLUDES 5-day supply of Carprofen (minor medication for pain)

24PetWatch Microchip Implantation (for lost pet recovery) – $25

Ear Tipping (for feral/outdoor cats) – free
Pre-op Bloodwork – $60 to $100 (required for ages 7 and older.)
Frontline+ flea and tick preventative (DHA staff will NOT apply to animal) – $15/tube
General dewormer (2 doses of Pyrantel Pamoate which will be sent home for you to administer at a later date, as instructed) – $5
New Castle County Dog License – $12 to $47
City of Wilmington Dog License – $10 to $40

Additional Charges (does not include basic spay/neuter fees)

You will be advised before any of the following charges are added, unless you have already requested them or consented. 

Spaying female dog in heat (dogs under 30 pounds only) – $30 to $50
Pyometra (severe bacterial infection in the uterus that is filled with pus) – $100 to $150
Cryptorchid (undescended testicle, additional depending on difficulty) – $40 to $80*
Umbilical Hernia Repair – $70
Canine Cherry Eye Repair (includes eye medication and e-collar) – $250 per eye
Spaying Female Dog in Heat – $30 to $50
Entropion – $115 per eye (includes eye medication and an e-collar)
Difficult Surgery (complicated procedure/obese pet) – $150* might reschedule if surgeon feels that animal is at risk
Antibiotics (may be required for pyometra, crypt, or as deemed necessary by the veterinarian) – price varies
Additional pain medication (when recommended by veterinarian due to a more complicated surgery) – price varies
Pregnant Cat – $25
Pregnant Dog – $125
Cerenia – $30
Capstar – $5
Flea/Ticket Preventative – $15
E-collar – $15
Sanitary Fee – $10
