Will you lend a hand?

Will you lend a hand?

Because you opened your heart, you made a lot of kitties purr and dogs’ tails wag this year. Thanks to your compassion and generous support, 1,200 homeless animals have already found loving homes so far, including Rascal, and we expect even more by year’s end!

On behalf of everyone here at the Delaware Humane Association (DHA), please accept my deepest gratitude. There is absolutely no way we could save so many animals without you.

I have even more good news to share.

Any gift you make to this campaign before December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by a group of eight of our longtime friends, up to $40,000!

Rascal, a five-month-old, Terrier-mix, is a perfect example.

This poor guy was dumped in a residential trash bin and was fortunately found by a shocked woman, who heard whimpering and banging. She tried to feed this malnourished puppy, only to have him throw up from having too much food too soon.

Upon arriving at DHA, Rascal was dirty, scared, and weighed only 10 pounds. Our long-time foster, Aimee Rouleau, took him in while he recovered (he’s gained six pounds since then).

She said, “Despite his terrible history, he still walks up to anyone he meets and wags his tail as a sign that he hasn’t given up on the human race.”

And when you make a gift today it will be doubled and give double the love, double the care, double the happiness to so many more wonderful animals who desperately deserve a family that adores them, regardless of their flaws and faults.

Whether we are providing emergency assistance when an animal’s life is on the line … fostering and nursing kittens and puppies to give them a chance to grow up healthy and strong … expanding spay/neuter initiatives to end the tragedy of pet overpopulation … creating innovative therapies and training programs to ensure misunderstood dogs and cats get a chance to show how wonderful they are …

… YOU are a lifeline to animals in need and enable DHA to go above and beyond for as long as it takes to find each and every animal an amazing home to call their own.

Until there are no more homeless, abused, neglected animals, we will be here … if we can continue to count on caring and compassionate animal lovers like you.

With that in mind, I urge you to be as generous as possible—especially because your gift will be DOUBLED.

I hope you feel great when you hear about dogs like Rascal and know that you gave him the chance to be loved.

But equally important, I hope you won’t forget about all the other homeless animals that need you too. Please, let me know you won’t by returning your most generous gift today.

Thank you for making so many tails wag this year and for being such a loyal friend of the Delaware Humane Association.
